About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Loan Officer to join our credit department. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating loan applications, conducting site visits for collateral assessment, and ensuring that all credit disbursements align with our cooperative’s lending policies and the Cooperative Act. You will play a vital role in maintaining a healthy loan portfolio and minimizing Non-Performing Loans (NPL).
What We're Looking For
Requirements (Skills & Qualifications)
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA), BBS, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience in the credit department of a Cooperative or Microfinance institution.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Cooperative Accounting Software (e.g., Pearl, Fin-Act, or similar).
- Strong understanding of Nepal’s Cooperative Act 2074 and NRB directives.
- Excellent command over Microsoft Excel for financial reporting.
- Other: Must possess a valid two-wheeler driving license and a personal vehicle for field visits.
Your Responsibilities
Responsibilities (Key Tasks)
- Process and analyze loan applications for various products (Micro-loans, Business loans, Hire Purchase).
- Conduct thorough background checks and site visits to verify member collateral and business status.
- Prepare credit appraisal reports for the Loan Sub-Committee.
- Follow up with members for timely EMI and interest payments.
- Maintain organized physical and digital records of all loan documentation.
- Assist the Manager in identifying potential risks in the credit portfolio.
